CLINTON CONCEDES-AND HOW………..Fired up!!!!!!  Ready to go!!!!!!!!

The way to continue our fight now  . . .  is to take our energy, our passion, our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama the next president of the United States” ~ Senator Hillary Clinton

Fired up!!!!!  Ready to go!!!! That may well describe the way Hillary Clinton appeared today.  This, as she gave the most impressive concession and endorsement speech I’ve been privileged to see.  For those of us, who’ve waited, somewhat anxiously, the wait was well worth it.

Today, we saw a Hillary Clinton we could like.  Today, we saw a worthy foe who made us stronger in her challenge.  Today, we saw what we believe to be a determined, dedicated “loyalist”.  And for those of us who waited, somewhat anxiously, the wait was well worth it.   She told about what her intent was, and the purpose of “her movement”.  And, it helped us understand and appreciate her passion, her feeling of the urgency of the moment.

When one is involved in a movement, one sometimes fails to fully appreciate the worthiness of another person’s cause. We may have been a little guilty of that, on occasion.  We congratulate Hillary Rodham Clinton on the successful campaign she waged.  And we welcome her uniting with us to develop a win in the turning point election she mentioned as coming up in November.
What a way that ol’ pro worked that audience.  She got in a little self-praise, but it was not over done.  She reminded of the worthiness of the cause she led, but it was not excessive.   Aware of some “resentment” from some of her supporters, she nailed that before it could go anywhere.  She urged her supporters to, “support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, presumptive Democratic nominee, in his bid for the White House, saying they should “take our energy, our passion and our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama … I ask all of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me.”

Finally, she spoke of the Democratic Party as “family”.  And, that it was time to regain party unity.  It was time to move on, she noted, as we seek to change the country for the good. “Today as I suspend my campaign, I congratulate him on the victory he has won and the extraordinary campaign he has won. I endorse him and throw my full support behind him and I ask of you to join me in working as hard for Barack Obama as you have for me.”

What really got us was this time when she said something like this:  “Today I join whole heartedly with Barack Obama, in returning Democrats to the White House.  And, I say “YES WE CAN!!”.  We couldn’t have said it any better..  It was a long time coming, but, the wait was well worth it.   Fired up!!!!!!  Ready to go!!!!!!!!
We’d say so….that’s how movements are fueled, and grow…
The struggle continues, until we succeed-and we shall,

In a political election lots of “things are said”. In an election filled with such historical importance as this one, even more of these “things are said”. Now that the Primaries are over, we need to “get over it”.

We’ve got a National election to win. And Party unity is important in winning it. The Clintons, with all their faults, can be a formidable ally in winning the White House.

We can win a lot of those votes she won in the primaries, without her. But, make no mistake about it, having Hillary and Bill on our team, makes it a whole lot easier.

    Fired up!!!!! Ready to go!!!!!
