Joe Biden, a Democratic senator from Delaware, has spent 30 years in the Senate.
First elected at the age of 29, Biden was persuaded to take office despite the tragic death of his wife and 13-month-old daughter only a few months after his upset over a long-serving Republican incumbent.
Specializing in foreign affairs and running primarily on his plan for Iraq, the Senator previously ran for president in 1988, a bid that was cut short amidst allegations of plagerism in a debate.
Biden, who frequently touts himself as the “most experienced” in the Democratic field, is counting on a strong showing in Iowa, the nation’s first 2008 contest.
